Let’s face it, there isn’t usually a shortage of wind at the coast, and Cleveleys is no exception, after all, that’s why they build offshore windfarms!
That makes it an ideal place to come and fly a kite – an ordinary one that you bought in a shop, or made yourself, or whether you prefer something a little, well, larger scale, and you need a harness to hold it down!
On the beach at Cleveleys you’ll find kids with small scale kites learning how to fly, big kids pretending to amuse their children, and serious kiters with large, serious kites – everyone is welcome, there is enough sky for all of you!
All through the year, the wind varies from a gentle breeze to a stiff gale, so if kiting is your thing you’ll generally find enough puff in the sky to keep your kite airborne!
